What does yoga entail?

Yoga is a practice of settling our very active mind. Traditionally when yoga was talked about it could have meant a number of things, stretching, sitting and focusing on ones breath, chanting a phrase over and over, or reading scriptures. Do you have an activity that you feel so immersed in that you block out all other aspects? in today’s world some do knitting, hiking or cooking, these could all be a form of a yoga practice if the mind is one pointed. But often we want to multitask and the opportunity of doing yoga gets passed up. This is why taking class is good, it assists on training our minds to be focused. So find a class where you can focus your mind and assist the body in being relaxed.
