Monthly focus for April is Chakra 4: Anahata, Yam

The muscles associated with this chakra are the neck muscles, rhomboids, pectoralis major/minor, serrated posterior and latissimus dorsi and the organ is the thymus and heart. The first four chakras allow us to let go of this area as Anahata means unstuck. If we hold on to our own preconceived notions of how we are supposed to act or be, then we build a barrier up from ourselves and hinder our own personal love as well as those around us. In yoga one of the main practices is non-attachment and surrender to God. These practices come from the heart chakra so we can love, give, and have relationships with other human beings. Our asana practice is very limited but love is divine and allows us to touch where we need to in order to have personal compassion on ourselves and to love ourselves.
